Throw / Head Game
Back to Activities
Description
•Quarter off the field as shown with cones or bibs
•The ball may be advanced up the field by throwing or catching, however, goals may only be scored off a header.
•Originally, the goal is the entire end line, but may be reduced to a real goal.
•The reason for marking off the field in quarters is that goals can only be scored if the ball comes from one quarter into another. This makes the angles and distances more realistic.
Variation:
-The ball must be moved up the field in a ‘throw -> head -> catch’ sequence. This lends itself to more reps of heading
