US Soccer National Coaching School Scheduled

U.S. SOCCER NATIONAL COACHING SCHOOLS TAKE PLACE APRIL 10-18, 2010
Current CoachesNet Members Receive Priority Registration Starting Feb. 9; Earn a Nationally Recognized License and Learn from Some of the Nation’s Top Coaches

CHICAGO (Feb. 8, 2010) – U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Department will conduct National Coaching Schools from April 10-18 in Carson, Calif. The spring courses will allow eligible coaches a chance to obtain a nationally recognized “B” license, and enable current National “A” License coaches to renew their “A” License and increase their knowledge of the game. The “A” Audit course, which is open to “A” License coaches, will run April 10-16, while the “B” License course will run April 10-18. Both courses will be held at The Home Depot Center, U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center, in Carson, Calif. The Home Depot Center is an ideal location to hold National Coaching Schools as it is the most complete athletic training facility in the nation, featuring state-of-the-art facilities for professional athletes in soccer and other professional sports. Registration for each course will open on Monday, Feb. 15, after a pre-registration period for active members of CoachesNet, U.S. Soccer’s official coaches club. Current CoachesNet members will have the first opportunity to register for the spring course beginning Tuesday, Feb. 9. Space in both courses is limited and coaches are encouraged to register early. The “A” Audit course is separate from the “A” License course and focuses on the latest trends in soccer through guest lecturers and incorporating U.S. National Teams and professional teams. Candidates will participate in classroom discussions, break-out groups and field sessions. The National “B” course consists of seven days of instruction and two days of evaluation. Participants at U.S. Soccer’s National Coaching Schools will have a chance to learn from some of the nation’s top-level instructors, including current and former national team, professional and international coaches. The licensing programs are focused on teaching soccer coaches up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge in order for coaches to improve the every day training environment for elite players, so they can fulfill their potential as international, professional, collegiate or youth soccer players.
